I asked Mark Ritchie to provide a statement to the Minnesota Deaf Community. Ritchie is the Minnesota Secretary of State, which among other things is responsible for monitoring and overseeing the electoral process in Minnesota. An ASL translation is viewable in this video. Statement follows - "It is very important that every eligible voter take part in this year's election. Our elected leaders need to know your views, your issues, and your commitment to engaging in the democractic process. The Minnesota Office of the Secretary of State is working to remove all barriers to voting faced by our eligible citizens. Working in partnership with many organizations, like the MN Association of Deaf Citizens and the Commission of Deaf, DeafBlind and Hard of Hearing Minnesotans, we have taken important steps this year but know there is so much more to do. With the help of concerned citizens we will make Minnesota a state that makes it possible for every eligible voter to feel welcome in our democratic process."
